MEET THE TEAM

College Pastor
Will Spivey
Hey there! Will here, and I am honored that you are checking out our website! I wake up each morning still blown away at the Lord’s goodness in calling Shelby and I to serve, invest in, and deploy college students from FBCO. The Lord is doing an incredible work here in Auburn and Opelika and we are so honored to be a part of it. On a good day, you may or may not find me drinking black coffee, going on a run, listening to a podcast, taking care of our two kiddos, or playing with our Sharpei GusGus. I so look forward to meeting you, hearing your story and connecting with you while you are in town. Welcome to Auburn and welcome home! :)

Hey guys! My name is Madison Lusk and this is my third year on staff at FBCO! I’m originally from Mobile, Alabama and graduated with a degree in Communications! I am currently enrolled at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary pursuing a Masters in biblical counseling. The Lord has truly given me a heart for ministry—I love seeing His children come to know Him more and am passionate about teaching others how to read God’s Word. This year I am so excited to see what the Lord is going to do at FBCO! I am excited to learn, grow, and serve Jesus alongside you. I am always down to grab coffee or Chick-fil-a, so please schedule a time to meet with me so I can get to know you!!!

Hey yall! I am so excited to begin my 3rd year on staff as a campus missionary. I have been married to my wife, Katherine, for 2 years and she is the single greatest blessing in my life. I am currently pursuing a Masters of Divinity from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. My heart and focus is to walk alongside you- college students- as you surrender your life to Jesus, live for Him in college and then beyond, and consider where the Lord is leading you to move your life for the sake of the Gospel among people who have never heard it.

Greetings! I graduated from Auburn in May of 2021 with a degree in Human Development and Family Studies, and I’m AMPED to spend this year serving with FBCO College! By God’s grace, this ministry was where I first heard, understood, and was changed by the gospel. My life was flipped upside down, and running after Jesus has been all gas no brakes ever since! I’m passionate about what the Lord can do during a person’s time in college, and it’s the greatest privilege to get to come alongside students as He works in their lives. Ask me about discipleship, emotionally healthy spirituality, anything kids ministry or gospel-centered parenting, and fighting for worship in the midst of anxiety!

Hey y’all! I recently graduated from Auburn with a degree in Finance, and I’m excited to spend this year serving with FBCO College! By God’s grace, I can continue serving in the church that has been my home since I was a little kid. This church was where I first heard the Gospel and experienced what it was like living in Gospel centered community. I believe college is such an important time in one’s life and having that foundation built on Christ is so important! I believe it is important to help pour back into those starting this stage of life like so many people did for me. Ask me about discipleship, missional communities, anything related to youth ministry, or about Star Wars or Auburn football!

Hey! My name is also Matthew. I am honored to serve as a campus missionary here at FBCO. I grew up in Opelika, took classes at Auburn University before the Lord changed the trajectory of my life. I’m now taking classes at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and really excited to serve you all this year. If you have questions about God, the Bible, podcasting, or Dad jokes, I’d love to sit down and chat with you over coffee (or food. Food is pretty good too).

Howdy! I am so excited to serve my first year on the college team. I love FBCO, and the Lord used its community to teach me so much about what it means to truly know and love Him. I graduated from Auburn University this past May. My degree is in organismal biology, and I plan on going to graduate school after my time on staff here is over. If you had told me I would be pursuing full time ministry, even short term, I would have told you that you had lost your mind. But the Lord has really given me a heart for college students and a deep desire to walk with them as they walk with Him. My other passions include learning about sea life, coaching gymnastics, and spending time with my two pups.
