MEET THE TEAM
Hey y’all! I am entering my fifth year as the college pastor at our church! I love the Word of God and counts it the highest honor to serve at our church. My wife Shelby and I have been married for six years and we have two kiddos with one more on the way! We are actively involved in the Lee County foster care system. I enjoy seeing college students find their role in God’s mission and joyfully walking in obedience. In my spare time, I enjoy going on runs, sipping black coffee, working on houses and reading.
Hey guys! My name is Madison Lusk and this is my third year on staff at FBCO! I’m originally from Mobile, Alabama and graduated with a degree in Communications! I am currently enrolled at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary pursuing a Masters in biblical counseling. The Lord has truly given me a heart for ministry—I love seeing His children come to know Him more and am passionate about teaching others how to read God’s Word. This year I am so excited to see what the Lord is going to do at FBCO! I am always down to grab coffee or Chick-fil-a, so please schedule a time to meet with me so I can get to know you!!!
What’s up!! My name is Jake, and I'm really excited and grateful to have the privilege of serving as one of the College Associates! I graduated from Auburn in 2022, and am originally from Texas (I’ll try to not make that my biggest personality trait, but I do love it there). I’m passionate about people, the local church, and pickleball- so be sure to schedule a time to hang to talk about any of those three things (or anything else you want). I’m really glad you’re here in Auburn, and want to meet you soon!
Hi friends! I’m Jeffrey Wills and I am so thrilled to be serving as a campus missionary this year! Through this position, I want to to grow in what it looks to live life with and disciple guys in this huge period of their lives. I’m passionate about playing music and sports. If you see me out and about, ask me about my favorite sports teams or the best late night food spot in Auburn! Also, if you are interested in serving with worship/tech, I’d absolutely love to talk about it!
Hi! I’m Katie Asplund and I am so excited to be a part of FBCO’s college ministry team this year! I grew up in Auburn and have a lot of love for this place. I graduated with a degree in psychology and hope to teach high school one day. I love new friends and I am so excited to get to hang out with people this year! I have learned so much about the grace of God during my time in college and I’m excited to see how He will continue to move in peoples heart this year. I love coffee shops and am always down to hang :) Ask me about the Bible and all the cool ways that it was designed to show us more of who God is!
Howdy, howdy, howdy. My name is Ethan and I’d love to get to know you! Random things I like are pirates, music with Gospel themes, and the mountains. The reason I chose to stick around in Auburn another year is because of the discipleship relationships I formed while I was a student. I have a passion for the Gospel and God’s Word and helping folks see that both can apply directly to their lives. Ask me how I spent my summers in college, Tim Keller quotes, and Auburn football. I’d happily talk your ear off about all of those things! God bless and War Eagle!
Hey! My name is also Matthew. I am honored to serve as a campus missionary here at FBCO. I grew up in Opelika, took classes at Auburn University before the Lord changed the trajectory of my life. I’m now taking classes at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, and I am really excited to serve you all this year. I care deeply about the person you and I are becoming. College is such a key time for developing who you and who will become over the course of your life. I am passionate about discipleship and helping students walk towards Christ. If you have questions about God, the Bible, podcasting, or Dad jokes. I’d love to sit down and chat with you over coffee (or food, food is pretty good too).
Howdy! I am so excited to serve my first year on the college team. I love FBCO, and the Lord used its community to teach me so much about what it means to truly know and love Him. I graduated from Auburn University this past May. My degree is in organismal biology, and I plan on going to graduate school after my time on staff here is over. If you had told me I would be pursuing full time ministry, even short term, I would have told you that you had lost your mind. But the Lord has really given me a heart for college students and a deep desire to walk with them as they walk with Him. My other passions include learning about sea life, coaching gymnastics, and spending time with my two pups.
Hey everyone! My name is Caroline! I'm pumped about serving with FBCO this year! I recently graduated from Auburn University with a public relations degree. My fiancé and I will be getting married in November of 2023! Jake and I are so pumped for what God has in store for this year. I never thought that my path would bring me here to serve with FBCO, but I am so glad the Lord opened this door! I am extremely passionate about seeing people catch the vision for God’s heart for the nations. Ask me about overseas missions, radical hospitality, or how to share the Gospel! I cannot wait to get to know you this year. Let me cook you a meal, join me for a walk, or a Side Track hang!
Hi everybody! My name is Catherine Coleman and I just graduated from Auburn University! I am so excited to be on the college ministry staff this year! I majored in history and minored in anthropology during my time at Auburn. I love coffee and all things gluten free :)! I also really love movies and tv shows and love to talk all about them! I love getting to know people and to talk about Jesus so it is a privilege to serve on this team. I am passionate about history, movies, and musicals. Ask me about overseas missions, a cool historical figure, anything anthropology, and what song is currently stuck in my head.
Hi guys! My name is Madilyn Claire and I recently graduated from Auburn in Biomedical Sciences and Psychology! I started going to FBO as a freshman and was connected to Amy who was on staff in the college ministry. She taught me so much of the character of Christ and what it truly means to live your life everyday at the feet of the cross. I knew if I ever got the opportunity to pour into others as she did to me I had to take it! I am really passionate about biblical womanhood and something I’d love for you ask me about is discipleship/ the call of vulnerability we have in body of Christ!
A recent college grad that spends 1-2 years on the FBCO team to reach the campus, make disciples, mobilize teams, and clarify their calling.
