WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO
We want to imitate the church we see in Acts 2 and believe that your time in college is the perfect setting to make that a reality. We believe that if the church is what it is called to be biblically and does what it is called to do by the power of the Holy Spirit, we will see God move in ways we have always dreamed of.
HOW WE GO ABOUT IT
Our mission is to help students grow UP in their relationship with God, IN with a community of believers, and OUT in missional living. We have a staff team that hold you and this mission field of the Auburn/Opelika area so dearly that they are “well pleased to impart not only the Gospel but also their entire lives” (1 Thes. 2:8) for the discipleship of believers in our ministry and reaching those who are far from God on and around campus.
WHAT WE DO
We like to think of our community as a family of faith. We want you to be a part of this family, and the best way we know to help you with that is to explain our ministry as a house comprised of different rooms. Each room serves a specific purpose and they are all important for the family to thrive. Take a look at the house layout and explanations to see how you should start exploring each of the rooms to connect with this family. You can find more information about these opportunities on the GATHERINGS, CONNECT, and GO tabs.
In the college ministry at First Baptist Church of Opelika, we want everyone to feel like they are part of our family. Trace, the college minister, and his wife Cassie shared about aspects of our ministry that you can get involved in in the videos below. These include gatherings, missional communities, and more. This first video shows our ministry vision in its entirety. The next videos take the main video and have broken it down into short clips.
